Creative JOY Circle (Online): Six weeks of simple, easy invitations back to creative joy
Creative JOY Circle (Online): Six weeks of simple, easy invitations back to creative joy
You probably know the feeling. You sit down to paint or cut up old magazines or doodle in a notebook, and after a while something wakes up. Ideas start coming, and you feel more like yourself. That energy and aliveness is there when we make things, and it grows even stronger when we make things alongside other kindred spirits.
The hard part is getting there on our own. Most of us have good intentions to make more art, and then life fills up and the paints stay in the drawer. It's so much easier to show up when there's a container and structure waiting for you, and a group of people who are glad you came.
The Creative Joy Circle meets on Zoom once a week for six weeks. Each session follows a gentle rhythm. We begin with a check-in and time to set an intention, then move into art-making based on the theme for the week, using simple materials you already have at home. Music plays while we work, and afterward there's time to share what you made and what you noticed. The invitations are simple and easy on purpose, so you can step in no matter how long it's been or how much experience you have.
By the end of the six weeks, you'll be making things again, and you'll feel proud of that. Creative flow gets stirred up, and many people find that new ideas, fresh perspective, and new energy start spilling into other parts of their lives. Having found your way back, it becomes much easier to keep going. And you'll have the warmth of a small community who have been creating right alongside you.
The circle is guided by Ali McKleroy, an art therapist, licensed therapist, and author with over 20 years of experience helping people reconnect with themselves through art.
